IIM Ranchi 13th Convocation Celebrating Milestones and New Beginnings

The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi celebrated its 13th Convocation Ceremony with great pomp on the 6th of April, 2024. The significant event took place at its esteemed permanent campus in Prabandhan Nagar on Nayasarai Road, Ranchi. Shri Harit Nagpal, the distinguished Managing Director & CEO of Tata Play Ltd., adorned the event as the Chief Guest, imparting wisdom during his convocation speech. Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, the lauded Chairman of the Board of Governors for IIM Ranchi, joined by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, IIM Ranchi's Director, Board Members, faculty members, staff, and the institute's graduating class, were present for this momentous day.

The proceedings of this revered event began with a traditional academic procession followed by an invocation. In his undertaking as host and welcome, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava extended heartfelt receptions to the guests of honor. During his address, he also encapsulated the institute's progress and milestones in a comprehensive report. The highlights included IIM Ranchi’s impressive attainment of being ranked 7th domestically by Outlook ICARE and its commendation as the 104th best international B-school by CEOWORKD magazine.

Reinforcing the commitment to academic innovation, Prof. Srivastava underscored IIM Ranchi’s alignment with India’s National Education Policy 2020 by introducing pertinent electives. His discourse also cast light on enhanced student support systems including MCM scholarships and initiatives that bolster academic prominence. Furthermore, he mentioned the international print edition of the IIM Ranchi Management Journal as a testimony to IIM Ranchi's scholastic outreach and intellectual contribution at a global level.

Programs such as Mind Lab and Human Connect, alongside innovative activities including drum circles and the establishment of a community library at Ranchi airport, illustrate the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi’s dedication to creating an inclusive educational atmosphere. Additionally, Professor Srivastava has unveiled strategic partnerships with esteemed organizations such as Tata Steel and the National University of Study and Law via Memorandums of Understanding aimed at enhancing societal benefits and scholastic distinction.

The institute’s director took pride in announcing the outstanding placement statistics of the graduating class of 2022-24, which demonstrated promising career prospects in varied industries. Furthermore, the successful Summer Internship Placement report for the batch of 2023-25 was presented, highlighting IIM Ranchi's pledge to cultivating industry-ready leaders. These results further cemented the institution’s reputation as a leading entity for nurturing professional talent.

At the convocation ceremony, Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM Ranchi, gave an inspiring address.
